ASA Tire Systems Moves Hosted Services to State-of-the-Art Data Center

Merrimack, NH (March 4, 2011) –
ASA Tire Systems, the industry leader in providing software systems and services to tire dealers, has announced that it is moving its hosted services to a SAS 70 Type II certified facility that's designed to improve overall customer satisfaction, performance, and reliability of running ASA Tire software systems remotely.  ASA's significant investment will fall into three main areas: 1) physical hosting facility, 2) infrastructure, and 3) virtualization technology.

"Our clients expect the highest level of service possible--and we will be in a better position to exceed client expectations in our new data center,” said Ken Halle, president of ASA Tire Systems.  “This new data center is another great example of how ASA Tire Systems offers customers the best value for their software investment.”

ASA has contracted with PAETEC to provide the physical data center, which is a SAS70 Tier II certified facility located in PAETEC's flagship 92,700 square foot data center in Andover, Mass.  The center includes the latest in physical and IP-based security and redundancy, including redundant power, redundant cooling, redundant network connectivity, two-tier security including biometrics, and 24x7 staffed monitoring.

For the infrastructure, ASA chose to partner with Winchester Systems, Inc., with its proven track record of helping technology and business managers maximize their investments in enterprise storage and server solutions.  By continually improving the capabilities of their flagship FlashDisk RAID disk array, now in its 11th generation, Winchester Systems have been able to minimize the layers of complexity between users and their information. Plus, with nearly three decades of experience providing outstanding service and support, including on-site service and installation, a 24x7 call center, “call home” capability built into the Winchester Systems products, ASA can deliver a superior SLA.

ASA has built its entire virtual technology infrastructure, scaling across unlimited interconnected physical computers and storage devices with VMware, a proven virtualization platform used as the foundation for building ASA's private cloud. ASA will no longer have to assign servers, storage, or network bandwidth permanently to each customer. Instead, ASA's hardware resources are dynamically allocated when and where they're needed within its own private cloud.

“We're planning a migration strategy that should have the first customer live in the next 30 days and all customers live by the end of August 2011,” said Scott Hopkins, vice president of operations at ASA Tire Systems. “We will communicate the complete migration plan to our customer base when it is confirmed.”
